It is designed to educate Supervisors in the workplace drugs of abuse testing and management processes including the considerations around the effective implementation of policies and procedures, relevant applicable legislation and strategies and considerations for the management of drug and alcohol issues in the workplace.

Participants will gain an understanding of –
The case for drug and alcohol testing
Relevant Australian legislation and standards
Organisational considerations and application of workplace policies and procedures
Understanding of the relevant drug and alcohol testing processes (breath alcohol, urine and saliva)
The management of employees with non-negative and positive results
Understanding of the identification of drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace
An introduction to communication and management of workers who may present as a risk
Dealing with sensitive information
Evaluation of drug and alcohol testing programs in the workplace.
This course is designed for individuals working in a supervisory role and require further understanding of the management of workplace drug and alcohol risk in the workplace.

Review of Current Policy and Processes
KINNECT Training will review existing workplace drug and alcohol policy and procedures and implement training modifications to the theoretical and practical activities prior to delivery to ensure that the training program reflects the organisation processes and required learning outcomes.
Typically delivered over 2-4 hours face to face or via webinar format, by workplace health and safety or allied health practitioners with extensive experience in workplace drug and alcohol services. Exact length of program is determined in conjunction with the organisation to address key learning and performance requirements.
This course is suited to those working in a supervisory or team leading role requiring an understanding of managing the risk around workplace drug and alcohol. It is designed to assist in
improving effective management and communication around drug and alcohol risk. Managers will also benefit in understanding the principles around the implementation and communication of effective policy and process.
Completion of this will result in the awarding of a Statement of Attendance issued by KINNECT Training.
