Recognised spirometry refresher training for health professionals.

This spirometry refresher training is for those that have completed the initial full day spirometry workshop. A one day refresher course must be attended within twelve months after the successful completion of the initial training course and then completion of an additional one day refresher course is required every three years thereafter (Standards for the Delivery of Spirometry for Coal Mine Workers – Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand).

The performance of spirometry is undertaken in a wide range of primary care settings such as general practice and occupational health. Spirometry is one of the simplest tests available to assist in the diagnosis of lung disease. It is used to assist in the diagnoses of lung conditions such as obstructive lung disease (Asthma/ COPD) and restrictive lung disease (Pulmonary Fibrosis). It includes health assessments for workplace monitoring and pre-employment medicals.
This spirometry training program equips you with the skills and knowledge to perform spirometry assessments confidently and be able to effectively interpret the results. This spirometry training course meets the standards outlined by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ). The course also meets The Standards for Spirometry Training Courses for the Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme and Coal Services (NSW).

KINNECT Training can also help in ensuring you are meeting your Quality Assurance (QA) requirements documented in the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand – (Standards for Delivery of Spirometry for Coal Mine Workers July 2017).

Successful completion of this program also allows you to maintain your recognised qualification and ensures you continue to meet the requirements to undertake assessments for the Queensland Coal Mining Industry as required by Queensland Health.
